The Everton star has shown so far this season and comparisons to Kante have been plentiful.

Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye has played down comparisons to N’Golo Kante, speaking to Sky Sports.

The midfielder joined the Blues in the summer transfer after they moved to sign him from Aston Villa.

After just five games of the season, he has proved to be a marvellous piece of business, with his all-action performances playing a key role in helping the side to second in the table.

His all-action displays have brought about comparisons to Chelsea star N’Golo Kante, who was one of the star men in Leicester City’s title-winning campaign last year.

The Everton midfielder has moved to play down that kind of talk, though, telling Sky Sports that he: “does not compare himself” to the France star.

“In the summer I signed here and I am on my own journey. I am very happy to be here, the club has extended a very warm welcome and so have the players.”

While Gueye does not welcome the comparisons to Kante, a look at the stats between the two shows just how superb he has been.

So far he has managed to win more tackles, more defensive duels and play more accurate passes per game per game than the Chelsea star.

That is an impressive feat, especially given the season he had with Aston Villa last year, and if he continues to perform like that then the comparisons to Kante will continue despite his desire to stop them.
