Trevor Sinclair has said on talkSPORT (8:12am, October 8, 2021) that the new Newcastle United owners should appoint former Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini as their new boss.
The former City winger believes that Mancini is the ideal manager for Newcastle.
The talkSPORT pundit has pointed out that the Italian was successful at City when they were first taken over by the City Football Group.
As announced on Newcastle’s official website yesterday, an investment group led by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), and also comprising PCP Capital Partners and RB Sports & Media, has competed the takeover of Newcastle.
Sinclair said on talkSPORT (8:12am, October 8, 2021): “I don’t know if it’s too soon because he has been very successful, but I think you need a manager who has done this before or done something like this before.
“The first name that springs to mind is Roberto Mancini, but I just don’t know whether it is too soon with the international squad with Italy, whether he would walk away.
“I think he has done it at Manchester City, you have got to bring in big players to set the standards at the football club, and I think Roberto Mancini would be the ideal man because he is still young enough to do it.”

Roberto Mancini to Newcastle United?
Mancini is in charge of the Italy national football team at the moment.
It is really hard to see the 56-year-old leave his role now.
After all, the former City boss will want to win the 2022 World Cup finals with Italy.
Mancini led Italy to Euro 2020 success, and the former Inter Milan boss will be determined to win the World Cup with his country as well.
However, you never know.
Anything and everything is possible in football.
However, at this point, we have to stress that Steve Bruce is still the manager of Newcastle and we have to respect that.
