Jay Bothroyd wants Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal to secure the signatures of Milan Skriniar of Inter and Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio during the summer transfer window.
The former Arsenal player posted on Twitter that the likes of Milan Skriniar and Marco Asensio will be ‘ideal’ captures from Inter and Real Madrid, respectively.
Both players have current contracts that will expire at the end of the season and there is talk that the duo could head for the exit door for nothing.
For Asensio, he is a three-time Champions League winner and, at the age of 27, he needs to be playing on a regular basis now – that’s why both Unai Emery’s Aston Villa and Arsenal are keen.
As for Skriniar, he might just add that European trophy to his cabinet, but Inter have to see off that crazy-winning train of Manchester City in the final in Istanbul.
Nonetheless, Bothroyd put forward names of players he wants the Gunners to sign, with Asensio and Skriniar as ‘free’ transfers.
SKRINIAR AND ASENSIO TO ARSENAL WOULD BE UNREAL BUSINESS
It has to take a lot for it to happen, but if Arsenal manages to secure the free signatures for Skriniar and Asensio in the summer, then it would be unreal business from the club.
The season has ended in a morale-sapped way for the north London club, with the Premier League title heading to Manchester City.
But many know that Arsenal will spend big in the summer, and if they get things right, like they did last summer, then there is no reason why they don’t push for the Premier League title again because expectations have now been raised.
