David Seaman has stated that he would take Youri Tielemans at Arsenal amid talk of his future at Leicester City.

The former Highbury goalkeeper stated that only Tielemans will know whether he wants to move away from the King Power Stadium and join a ‘bigger club’.

The 24-year-old is still in contract negotiations with the Foxes, and with his current deal set to expire in 2023, he still hasn’t put ink to paper.

Arsenal are one of the clubs that are seemingly tracking the technically-gifted midfielder, as Goal, previously reported that the Gunners held talks with the player’s agent.

Nonetheless, when Seaman heard Tielemans talk about his future, his relationship with Brendan Rodgers and potential Arsenal interest, this is what he had to tell Sky Sports.

“Where does he want to go?” asked Seaman. “Does he want to go to a bigger club? Or is he happy at Leicester? Only he will know.

“From what you see there, he seems to get on well (with Rodgers). When does his contract end? In 2023? I think. But I would take him at Arsenal.”

Signed by Leicester from Monaco for £40 million in 2019 (Guardian), Tielemans has been a great servant to the club.

The Belgium international will also go down in history in the East Midlands because it was his stunning long-range effort that helped Leicester win their first-ever FA Cup final at the expense of Chelsea last season.

Without the ball, Tielemans doesn’t suit what Mikel Arteta is looking for because he doesn’t have that aggressive nature to his game.

But, with the ball, he can control the tempo of the match, make goalscoring runs to hurt the opposition and open space for his teammates, as well as turn defence into attack in next to no time.
