Kevin Campbell warned reported Tottenham target, Danny Ings, on Monday Night Football on Sky Sports (12/04/21 at 5:50 pm) that he may not be guaranteed regular game time if he leaves this summer
In recent months, there has been a lot of talk about Tottenham’s very own number nine leaving in the summer, well Southampton fans have had the same with Ings.
As Ings stalls on a new deal at St Mary’s, rumours circulate about his future, including Eurosport claiming in January that Spurs will push for the Englishman when the transfer window re-opens.
But Campbell, who highlighted Ings’ spell at Liverpool, shared that he would rather be playing on a regular basis than having a stop-start time at a club higher up the table.
“Good player and he knows the Premier League,” said Campbell. “He’s done his stint at a big club. He went to Liverpool and it didn’t quite work out. He got injured and struggled a little bit.
“I think you could go to a big club if you can be guaranteed 25–30 games a season. But I would much rather play week in and week out.
“You then get a certain level of know-how and smartness. You can use all your skills. If you are out of the team sometimes you don’t get going.
“I think it’s a very tough one for Danny Ings to maybe make a decision.”

If Kane stays put in North London then Ings’ decisions should be made for him about joining Tottenham.
But if that nightmare for Spurs fans becomes a reality and Kane is heading for the exit door then the £20 million man (BBC Sport) would be a pretty smart replacement.
Until then, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Ings is the only number nine Englishman making a transfer this summer and not the one on everybody’s lips.
