Speaking on the No Tippy Tappy Football Podcast, Tony Bellew has been discussing the idea of some footballers getting involved in boxing.

Celebrity boxing is all the rage at the moment, with the likes of Jake Paul, KSI and countless other YouTube stars getting involved in the sport.

Bellew pondered whether or not footballers would eventually jump onto this trend, and he says that he would pay good money to see Antonio Conte face off against Thomas Tuchel inside a ring after their pitchside argument earlier this season.

Bellew would watch Conte vs Tuchel

The former world champion spoke about Conte potentially fighting Tuchel.

“Do you think there could be a future in football managers getting in the ring together?” Bellew was asked.

“Well, I think Thomas Tuchel and the Tottenham manager Antonio Conte had a little spat didn’t they? I mean, I’d pay for those two to go at it properly, he has a height advantage doesn’t he? But Big Sam, if I could train him for a week, that right hand would drop anybody,” Bellew said.

Only one winner

While it would be incredibly entertaining to watch Conte and Tuchel box, you have to feel that there would only be one winner.

Tuchel is much taller and slightly younger than Conte, and for that reason, you have to back the German in this hypothetical situation – although the Italian’s determination and aggression may see him through.

Of course, this bout will never actually happen as both men seem to have buried the hatchet and moved on since their spat, but the idea of footballers getting in the ring to settle any disputes is certainly interesting.
