Liverpool’s Ben Woodburn joined Blackpool on loan last week, looking for some regular gametime at the League One club.
After an injury-hit spell on loan at Oxford last season, the important thing for the Welshman is playing games.
As per the Blackpool Gazette, he says that is what Wales boss Ryan Giggs is looking for when picking his squads.
Woodburn also said he’s open to extending his current loan spell, which runs until January, having enjoyed the opening days of his time with the Tangerines.
“Liverpool have just told me to go out on loan, express myself and see how I do. When I go back, we’ll go from there.
“The move to Blackpool happened pretty fast, so Liverpool haven’t said too much about what might happen when my loan ends. We haven’t had the discussion yet.
“I’d definitely be open to staying longer, though. I’ve enjoyed my first couple of days so I don’t see why not, especially if we’re doing well – then I’d love to stay.”
The move to Blackpool sees Woodburn reunite with his former Reds youth coach Neil Critchley, who is in charge at Bloomfield Road.

After bursting onto the scene as a young player, Woodburn’s career hasn’t ignited in the way he might have hoped.
But he is still just 21, with plenty of time to improve if he can get over his injuries and play regularly.
With 10 Wales caps, he will have an eye on Euro 2021 and working under a manager who knows him well from Liverpool can only help.
If January rolls around and Woodburn is banging in the goals for Blackpool, it would make sense to let him stay there, given how tough he’d likely find it to get into the Liverpool side right now.
