Some Arsenal fans are open to the idea of signing Sergio Aguero from Manchester City during the summer transfer window.
The legendary Argentine hitman has revealed this week that he is leaving Eastlands.
Aguero joined City a decade ago and has fired the Etihad club to four Premier League titles, scoring 181 goals in this competition along the way.
With Alexandre Lacazette linked with a move away from Arsenal this summer and likely to leave England, the Gunners might need another number nine in their ranks.
And with Mikel Arteta’s history of coaching Aguero during his time working as Pep Guardiola’s number two, Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson claimed that a move to the Emirates Stadium could be perfect for the 32-year-old.
It’s a big claim by Merson but one that quite a few Arsenal fans on Twitter are in total agreement with. Here’s how they reacted:
It’s worth pointing out that Aubameyang is only a year younger than Aguero and although they are both red-hot goalscorers, Arsenal need to think about the future.
Yes, the former Atletico Madrid star wouldn’t cost a penny in terms of transfer fee, but he would cost the North Londoners an absolute fortune in terms of wages and this is just one deal they won’t be able to finance, even if the football side of it made sense.
