Everton striker Cenk Tosun is living his ‘childhood dream’ in the Premier League although the opportunity to return to Besiktas one day in the future may be too good to turn down, speaking to TRT Spor.

While the Turkish international has not found it easy adapting to life on English shores, a man who moved to Goodison Park two years ago in a £27 million deal will forever remain a hero in one corner of Istanbul.

It was Tosun who fired Besiktas to a pair of Super Lig titles in 2015 and 2016, while scoring goals for fun in the Champions League too.

And, although the 28-year-old is not ready to give up on his Premier League hopes just yet, he may be tempted to turn his back on English shores if Besiktas come calling again.

“Why should I not want Beşiktaş in the future? Beşiktaş is my home. I am proud of my people. I would like to return to my home,” Tosun says.

“Everybody knows my name (in England) but I have to score more goals. The Premier League means a lot to me.”

Tosun joined Everton during the ill-fated spell of Sam Allardyce and it’s fair to say he has been a victim of the almost relentless changes at Goodison Park.

Marco Silva froze the skilful centre-forward out of his plans before Carlo Ancelotti, who replaced the Portuguese in December, loaned him out to Crystal Palace a month later.

Tosun marked his Palace debut with a well-taken header against Manchester City but, as luck would have it, a serious injury soon brought an end to his hopes of a revival at Selhurst Park.
