Rory Wilson has ‘publicly confirmed’ on Instagram that he has left Scottish Premiership side Rangers ahead of his move to English Premier League side Aston Villa.
The 16-year-old added that he has had ‘an unforgettable eight years’ at Rangers, with Fabrizio Romano reporting on Twitter last week that ‘personal terms’ had already been agreed between Wilson and Villa ahead of his possible transfer.
The sought-after striker was also re-posting messages of him in a Villa shirt, with messages of good luck from friends and teammates.
But now, the highly-rated and top-talent teenager has shared that he is heading for the exit door at Ibrox, with the following social media post.
ANOTHER GEM ADDED TO VILLA’S ACADEMY
From Jack Grealish to current star Jacob Ramsey, Villa have had a habit of producing some top-quality players from their academy, with more stellar names coming through the doors.
Wilson would only add to that and he will be looking to make an impression when he joins up with Villa for pre-season next month.
There is still a long way to go regarding his development and it will be interesting to see how he will be used next season under Steven Gerrard.
Will he train with the first team? Play for the under-21’s or probably go out on loan, although, it’s best he stays on board at Villa Park for now.
