Gerard Deulofeu has played down reports of a return to the Premier League with West Ham United but admits he is ready to consider a move away from Serie A outfit Udinese, speaking to Diario AS.
After sparkling intermittently at Barcelona, AC Milan, Everton and Watford, one of European football’s most enigmatic attackers is finally starting to shine on a weekly basis just a couple of days short of his 29th birthday.
With 12 Serie A goals to his name, this is the most prolific league campaign of Deulofeu’s senior career.
And Calciomercato claim that West Ham have made contact with Udinese to enquire about the availability of their snake-hipped Spain international.
West Ham want Gerard Deulofeu
“At the moment, these are only rumours,” Deulofeu said when asked to comment on reports suggesting that he could soon be on his way out of the Dacia Arena.
“I admit that I would like to take a leap but everything has its process and I am very happy at Udinese. I am 28 years old and the best of my career is yet to come.
“Yes (this is the best season of my career) and I know why that is. Before I have been very inconsistent, now I am at a point in my life where everything I do has a meaning.”

The £17 million-rated Deulofeu, who fired Watford into the 2019 FA Cup final with a mesmerising second-half performance against Wolves a couple of years ago, could reunite with his close friend Pablo Fornals if West Ham step up their interest.
What’s more, Deulofeu’s agent has already reached an agreement with the Udinese owners regarding a potential summer departure.

“There is a great relationship with the Pozzo family,” the representative tells Corriere dello Sport.
“But we all agree that next year for Deulofeu could be the one to make an important leap. There are no possibilities that can be exclusded.
“Today, he is the best Deulofeu ever.”
