Darren Bent has urged the ‘unstoppable’ Adama Traore to snub a deadline day move to Tottenham and instead stay at Wolves, as he told talkSPORT Breakfast (31/08/21 at 8:50 am).
Tottenham have expressed an interest in signing Traore this summer and it’s no surprise given that Nuno Espirito Santo worked up close and personal with him during his time at Molineux.
Overnight, it seems as though Wolves are going to add to their midfield armoury by signing Renato Sanches from Lille, as reported by Sky Sports.
As a result, Bent was asked whether that opens the door for someone like Traore to leave Wolves for Spurs.
But the former striker urged the fast-paced winger to stay put in the Midlands.
“If I am Wolves then I have to keep hold of him,” said Bent. “I know his finishing and his final product, at the start of the season, hasn’t been great.
“But his performances have been really good. He has looked unstoppable, so I would do everything to keep hold of him.”

Those final third problems may well still be a problem in Traore’s game, but one thing is for sure, he is still getting supporters off their seats.
That was proven during his performance against Spurs where his one-on-one opportunity resulted in him fluffing his chances.
But that doesn’t mean that he didn’t cause Tottenham’s backline all sorts of problems on the day.
Whilst it seems unlikely that Traore will don Tottenham colours by the end of today, given that a certain Daniel Levy likes a Deadline Day move, then it’s something still worth keeping an eye on.
