It looks like Liverpool youngster Sepp van den Berg is making a big impression out on loan.

The Reds brought the 19-year-old defender to Anfield during the summer of 2019 by Michael Edwards and he was certainly signed as one for the future.

Even with Liverpool’s injury crisis with regards to centre-back options this season, the big Dutch teenager wasn’t fancied as a viable candidate to plug gaps in Jurgen Klopp’s senior side.

The Premier League champions loaned him to Championship outfit Preston North End in January, after bringing Ben Davies the other way.

And some fans of the Deepdale club are raving about Van den Berg on Twitter.

He has started two league games and now kept clean sheets in both following Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Huddersfield Town.

And some Preston fans are already talking about signing him in the long term. Here’s how they reacted to his performance:

Liverpool probably wouldn’t sell him outright because, after all, he is a long-term project.

But the route into the senior side is going to be heavily obstructed next season and beyond, assuming Klopp signs a couple of centre-backs during the summer, and therefore another loan wouldn’t be a bad idea.
