Merson wrote: “This should be a good Premier League match. West Ham are not playing well at the moment and their season has been a bit stop-start so far.
“They do have the ammunition to hurt Liverpool and could make this a hard game. If Liverpool turn up, however, I’d back them to win this game.
“Prediction: Liverpool 2-1 West Ham United.”
Who will win?
In our view, Liverpool will win the Premier League match against the Hammers at Anfield this week.
The Reds got the better of Manchester City 1-0 at Anfield in the Premier League this past weekend.
City are the defending Premier League champions and are also the strongest team in England.
Liverpool also hammered Rangers away from home at Ibrox in the UEFA Champions League last week.
The signs are looking very encouraging for Liverpool at the moment.
Now, of course, we know that West Ham have a strong team and will not be easy pushovers.
However, the Hammers are the visiting team, and the Anfield fans will push Liverpool to a win.
