Should Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers make an approach for former Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri?

Rangers have been searching for a manager since the departure of Mark Warburton earlier this month. Graeme Murty is in charge of the Gers’ first team at the moment, and it is only a matter of time before the club appoint a permanent successor to Warburton.
According to BBC Sport, Alex McLeish and Frank de Boer have expressed their interest in the Rangers managerial job, while Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes is also reportedly a candidate.
Another name that could be thrown into the hat is Claudio Ranieri. Ranieri was sacked as the Leicester City manager on Thursday evening, and it would make sense for Rangers to make an approach.
Ranieri is a very experienced and well-thought-of manager. The Italian tactician achieved a miracle last season when he guided Leicester City to the Premier League title.
The 65-year-old is a good man-manager and a good tactician, and he would bring a wealth of experience to Ibrox.
The former Juventus, AS Roma and Inter Milan boss is a high-profile manager, and he could attract some good players in the summer transfer window.
Appointing Ranieri now would allow him time to know the club and understand the current Rangers squad. The Italian could then look at adding players in the summer according to his needs.
The Rangers players would also respond positively to the appointment of Ranieri, as they would be determined to impress a Premier League-winning manager.
