Rangers have secured an exciting new signing today, having confirmed the arrival of Oostende attacker Fashion Sakala.

The Gers already have Bournemouth midfielder Nnamdi Ofoborh arriving on a pre-contract agreement this summer, and Sakala has now joined him.

Sakala has been linked with Rangers for months now, and the Gers have today announced that he has agreed to join on a four-year contract until 2025.

The 24-year-old has hit 13 goals for Oostende this season, and joins Rangers on a free transfer in what appears to be an exciting move.

Sakala is quick and versatile, possessing the ability to play on either flank or up front, with Steven Gerrard no doubt looking forward to using such a dangerous attacker.

Sakala becomes the first Zambian international to play in the Scottish Premiership, and he has been speaking to Rangers’ official website about his move to Ibrox.

The attacker has admitted that he thinks Rangers fans are ‘great’, suggesting that he can’t wait to play in front of them when fans are finally allowed back inside stadiums.

Sakala called Rangers ‘one of the greatest clubs in the world’, and wants to learn from their top players during his time in Scotland.

“I am very much excited to start this exciting journey with Rangers. It has been one of my dreams, and I feel like this is a dream come true to join Rangers – one of the greatest clubs in the world,” said Sakala. “They have a great fanbase and a great history, and I believe we will share great memories together.”

“As a player you always strive to play for others – that is the most important strength which keeps me going. I know that Rangers have great players and I am looking forward to learning from them and deliver. In my role as a striker, I know what the club needs from me and what the fans expect. The club has great players and I just want to learn from them and try to bring something that helps the team get the results,” he added.
