Rangers snapped up Cardiff City’s Declan John on deadline day.
Declan John in action for Cardiff
Rangers may have missed out on Hearts winger Jamie Walker on deadline day, but they did bring in one new face as left back Declan John arrived from Cardiff City.
The Gers had snapped up ten new faces before deadline day, with Bruno Alves, Fabio Cardoso, Ryan Jack, Graham Dorrans, Carlos Pena, Dalcio, Daniel Candeias, Aaron Nemane, Eduardo Herrera and Alfredo Morelos all completing summer moves to Ibrox.
Manager Pedro Caixinha wasn’t quite done there though, as he wanted cover at full back – and Rangers swooped to land Cardiff’s Declan John on loan until the end of the season, securing him as cover for Lee Wallace.

John, 22, has come up through the ranks and has now made more than 50 appearances for the Bluebirds since making his debut in August 2012, but first-team football has been hard to come by in recent years.
A Welsh international, John spent time out on loan with Barnsley and Chesterfield in recent years, and he’s now moving on again having penned a deal with Rangers on Thursday.
With inexperienced teenager Myles Beerman serving as the only cover to left back Lee Wallace, it was imperative that Rangers brought in another option, with John arriving for the season.

A start against Dundee after the international break may not arrive for the defender, with Wallace still clearly the first choice, but John has admitted that he is excited to get going with the Gers.
John took to Twitter after completing his deal to admit his delight at joining such a ‘massive club’, and he can’t wait to make his debut for Rangers as he competes for a starting role with Wallace.
