Ranges were linked with Craig Bryson in the January transfer window.

Derby County’s Craig Bryson is out of contract this summer and looks set to leave for free – but a move to Rangers now seems hugely unlikely.
The 32-year-old has made 22 league appearances under Frank Lampard this season, but with the Rams set to trim their wage bill again this summer, Bryson is primed for the exit.
Bryson may fancy a return to Scotland for the final stages of his career, and the Daily Record reported in January that Rangers had opened talks about a deal.
Rangers assistant Gary McAllister allegedly wanted to see the Scotland international arrive at Ibrox, but January ended with no deal done – and it doesn’t look like one will materialise this summer either.
Even with Bryson available for free, Rangers are better off strengthening elsewhere; Bryson would add little to Steven Gerrard’s current options in the middle of the park.
Another experienced midfielder to join Graham Dorrans, Scott Arfield and potential permanent signing Steven Davis would hardly benefit a Rangers midfield lacking creativity rather than hard workers.

Gerrard also has an abundance of other midfielders at his disposal. Ross McCrorie, Ryan Jack and Glen Kamara are available too, whilst Jordan Rossiter and Greg Docherty are returning from loan exits this summer.
Matt Polster and Andy Halliday can also offer workrate in the middle of the park, so bringing in Bryson would be a completely redundant move from Rangers – even for free.
If it’s not a dynamic playmaker, Rangers shouldn’t be looking for another midfielder this summer. As Bryson doesn’t fit that bill at this stage in his career, he shouldn’t be under consideration even if he was eyed in January.
