Gers legend Peter Lovenkrands sat down for an exclusive interview with the Daily Record and raved about Pedro Caixinha, highlighting the Portuguese’s intellectual approach to the game as something that has particularly impressed him.
Rangers have endured a challenging campaign in the Scottish Premiership, following their four year sabbatical from the top flight, and currently sit a distant 33 points adrift of their bitter rivals Celtic.
The Hoops have totally dominated domestically this term, but Caixinha’s men do have an opportunity to restore some pride when the pair meet in the Scottish Cup semi final on Sunday.
Lovenkrands though, who won two league titles with Rangers during his time at Ibrox, believes the Gers’ new boss could bring success back to the club, highlighting what has impressed him most about Caixinha, when speaking exclusively to the Daily Record:

“The thing that impressed me most about Pedro was his ideas and the way he thinks football-wise. We had the same mentality on football and training. He came across as very clever, he knows his stuff, and appears to be hard working.”
The 46-year-old Portuguese will certainly have his work cut-out, however, if he is to lead his side to domestic glory over the next few seasons, with Celtic currently streets ahead in both the quality of their squad, and the financial power they have at their disposal.
And Rangers fans will be hoping that Caixinha’s coaching methods resonate with the players sooner rather than later, after being starved of any kind of major success for the past half decade.
