Graeme Murty’s Rangers side face the daunting prospect of a trip to Parkhead to take on Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic on Sunday.

Lee McCulloch of Rangers celebrates after he scores during the Scottish Championship League Match between Rangers and Dumbarton, at Ibrox Stadium on August 23, 2014 Glasgow, Scotland.

Rangers legend Lee McCulloch sat down for an exclusive interview with Sky Sports, and warned his former club that they must stop Scott Brown from influencing the game, if they have any chance of beating Celtic on Sunday.

The Gers currently sit 10 points behind the Hoops in the Scottish Premiership table with only four games remaining this season, and anything other than a Rangers win would see Brendan Rodgers’ men lift the title for the seventh consecutive season.

Scott Brown of Celtic is seen during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Hibernian and Celtic at Easter Road on April 21, 2018 in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Graeme Murty’s side were thoroughly outplayed, and perhaps more worrying were outfought, in the last Old Firm game two weeks ago, and they will need to be far more organised, committed and aggressive if they are to have any chance of leaving Parkhead with anything to show for their efforts on Sunday.

McCulloch, who made 289 appearances for Rangers, explained why his former club must stop Celtic skipper Scott Brown on Sunday, when speaking exclusively to Sky Sports:

“Tactics will only take you so far in a football match. The way Rangers pressed the ball wasn’t aggressive enough, so we will see if there is any change to that. I think they will flood the middle of the pitch and will need to stop Scott Brown playing. He has been fantastic in all the Old Firm games this season and they will need to put someone on Scott to curtail him.”

Rangers will have to be at their very best on Sunday if they are to stand any chance whatsoever of beating Celtic, and will be looking for their first Old Firm victory over 90 minutes since 2012.
