Rangers currently sit 14 pints behind league leaders Celtic in the Scottish Premiership table.
Rangers midfielder Andy Halliday shared his belief that Mark Warburton does not need to strengthen the Gers squad in order for them to compete with fierce rivals Celtic, as quoted by the Daily Record.
The Gers struggled during the first couple of months of their campaign, but have dramatically improved both their performances and results on recent weeks, stringing together three successive league wins.
And Halliday offered his view on any potential ins and outs at Ibrox over the course of the January transfer window, and insisted the Rangers squad is plenty strong enough to compete at the top of the Scottish Premiership, as quoted by the Daily Record:

“I have been asked that question about January signings a lot, and I think certainly with the squad just now we are good enough. There were questions raised on that point earlier this season, but I think we have shown over the last few weeks that we are good enough. We want to win every single game. But we’ve probably dropped too many points already this season to be in a title race as such at this time. “

Although the gap between Rangers and Celtic seems insurmountable at the moment, if Warburton’s men were to win their next two games, before their crucial clash against their bitter rivals on New Year’s Eve, then who knows what could happen.
Halliday, 25, has played an important role in Rangers’ resurgence of late, and has been a permanent fixture in Warburton’s starting line-up so far this term.
And he will need to be at his very best if his side are to close the gap on Celtic over this coming week.
