Experienced Rangers striker Kenny Miller told the Scottish Herald that any kind of talks concerning him signing a new deal at Ibrox have been put on hold until the club appoint a manager on a permanent basis.

Graeme Murty is currently in charge of the Gers, in a caretaker role, after Mark Warburton was relinquished of his duties last week.

And the Glasgow giants are a club leaning towards a mini crisis, as they currently sit in third position in the Scottish Premiership table, a mammoth 27 points adrift of bitter rivals Celtic at the top of the pile.

Miller, however, has been one shining light for Rangers this term, scoring nine goals.

But it has been his overall contributions to the team which have been most impressive, and led to calls from fans for the 37-year-old to sign a new deal.

The Rangers striker told the Herald that nothing has been discussed yet, however, concerning a potential contract extension at Ibrox:

“That (his contract extension) has been put on the back burner at the moment. The club have got bigger things to sort out at the moment. Any new negotiations or decisions based on players takes a bit of a back seat. It is definitely secondary to us finding a new manager.”

Next up on the agenda for Rangers, however, is a trip to Dundee tomorrow, and it will be an absolute necessity for them to bring three points back to Ibrox with them.
