Glasgow Rangers will head into the new year 19 points adrift of league leaders Celtic.
Rangers midfielder Andy Halliday has made the surprising suggestion that his side lack match-winners, and rely too heavily on the cumulative work-ethic of the group as a whole, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.
Gers boss Mark Warburton has highlighted the need for patience at Ibrox, as he attempts to build a squad capable of challenging fierce rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title.

And the gulf in class was obvious during the Old Firm Derby yesterday, as Celtic dominated the second half against Rangers, and went on to win the game 2-1.
The Gers now sit 19 points adrift of their bitter rivals, having played a game more, and Warburton will surely try to strengthen his options in January.
And Halliday highlighted an area where he believes his side are currently lacking, as quoted by the Scottish Sun:
“When you look at our team, if I’m being honest, I don’t think that we’ve been blessed with match-winners. If we’re going to win football matches then we need nine or 10 of our players on top form during the 90 minutes.”

Whereas Celtic have the likes of Scott Sinclair and Moussa Dembele, Rangers certainly seem to lack the star names capable of lifting them when they need a little bit of magic.
And their chances of challenging for the title next season will surely be dependant on their ability to bring in players of superior quality to the ones that they already possess.
