The Rangers hitman was singled out for praise by Ibrox supremo Steven Gerrard.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard spoke to reporters ahead of his side’s Europa League qualifying clash with Croatian side Osijek at Ibrox tonight, and raved about the quality of Alfredo Morelos, suggesting that he is seeing a different player to the one he watched last season, as quoted by the Scotsman.
The 22-year-old Colombian scored 18 goals in 43 appearances in all competitions for the Gers last season, but Gerrard is obviously expecting more from him this time around.
The Rangers manager spoke to reporters, and highlighted how Morelos already looks ‘at it’ this season, as quoted by the Scotsman:
“I’m still learning what floats his boat. And he’s still getting used to me. He is working hard on his English and stuff. But I see Alfredo smiling and enjoying his training. Having watched him from the outside last season and then with what I am seeing now, I think you can see a different player. He is looking ‘at it’. If we can keep him fit and sharp I have no doubt he will score goals for this football club. He is a threat and someone you wouldn’t like to play against when he is ‘at it’.”
His season was disrupted last year with reports linking him with a move away from Ibrox, but he eventually stayed with Rangers.

The Glasgow giants are expected to make vast improvements under the stewardship of Gerrard this season, and many fans and pundits alike are tipping them to mount a sustained challenge for the Scottish Premiership title.
They will, of course, have their work cut-out, if they are to topple Celtic this season, and if they are to have any chance of doing just that, Morelos will have to be at his very best for the entirety of the campaign.
