Rangers managing director Stewart Robertson has been quoted by The Scottish Sun as saying that the club aren’t even looking at new deals for Clint Hill and Kenny Miller right now.

The Gers appointed Pedro Caixinha as their new boss earlier this month, with the Portuguese manager now beginning to assess his squad having beaten Hamilton 4-0 in his first game in charge.

One of the first squad decisions Caixinha will have to make ahead of the summer transfer window will concern two players potentially leaving Ibrox, rather than anybody arriving in Glasgow.

Veteran duo Clint Hill and Kenny Miller are both out of contract this summer, and Caixinha must decide whether to hand new deals to the experienced pair.

Defender Hill, 38, has enjoyed a fine run of goalscoring form with three in his last three, and the centre back has been a pleasant surprise for Rangers since arriving on a free transfer from QPR last summer.

Meanwhile, striker Miller – now in his third spell with Rangers – has hit nine goals in 37 appearances this season, and the 37-year-old has engaged in coaching duties with the Rangers youngsters this season.

Miller will want to continue his playing career though, as will Hill, but talks with the duo appear to be on hold until Caixinha has had time to settle into the job, according to managing director Stewart Robertson.

Robertson, as quoted by The Scottish Sun, has stated that Rangers aren’t even looking at the pair’s contracts right now, as Caixinha has plenty of time to decide what he wants to do with both Hill and Miller, leaving the duo in limbo over their Ibrox futures.

“We’re not even looking at that at the minute. It’s still very much about Pedro settling in,” said Robertson. “Once he gets to know the players he will start to look at things and assess things going forward. There is still plenty of time to go until the end of the season. We just need to let Pedro do what he is doing and things will happen from there,” he added.
