But asked during a Twitter Q & A session how Rangers – who have seen Stephen Kelly and, notably, Glenn Middleton make strides at first team level this campaign – can avoid a repeat scenario going forward, Mulholland replied:
And it is not just at home that Rangers are seeking out fresh talent, with Mulholland adding, in response to being asked if a European scouting network is in place at Ibrox:
Middleton (Norwich City), Myles Beerman (Manchester City) and Serge Atakayi (FF Jaro) are all recent examples of Rangers’ willingness to recruit from far and wide, while the Gers recently struck a three-year partnership agreement with their Canada-based namesakes of Montreal.
