Ibrahima Konate has simply tweeted ‘my team’ after watching Liverpool beat Atletico Madrid 2-0 last night.

Front row seats

Konate was left on the bench yesterday, but he had prime viewing as Jurgen Klopp’s men picked up a surprisingly comfortable victory.

Liverpool scored early on when Diogo Jota scored from a Trent Alexander-Arnold, and they quickly doubled their advantage through Sadio Mane.

The game was effectively over as a contest before half-time when Felipe was given a straight red for a foul on Mane.

And Konate’s tweet suggested that he was very impressed by what he saw from his teammates.

Chances coming?

When Liverpool were drawn against Atleti, Porto and AC Milan many predicted that they could face a real fight to qualify for the knockout stages.

However, Klopp’s side have absolutely strolled through the group stages.

Liverpool have won all four matches in the competition so far and cruised through to the knockouts.

Klopp now has the luxury of being able to rotate his side ahead of games against AC Milan and Porto.

That could well see Konate given minutes, as the 21-year-old continues to adapt to life after moving to Anfield in the summer.
