West Ham United host Liverpool at the Boleyn Ground, and will hope to repeat the 3-0 win they achieved at Anfield earlier on in the season.
To be played on Saturday 2nd January 2016 at 12:45. Venue: Boleyn Ground, London
Odds: West Ham 58/19, Draw 31/12, Liverpool 11/10
The last time these two sides met, West Ham United secured their first win at Anfield for the first time since 1963, and pretty much sealed the fate of Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool.
The Hammers had a promising start to the season but their form had dipped of late – though their last outing against Southampton saw them chalk up their first win in nine league games and they sit a respectable eighth at the halfway stage of the season – a point and a place behind this weekend’s opponents.
As for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, they have shown signs of recovery from poor defeats in their last two matches with back-to-back 1-0 wins, with solid defensive displays.
It’s the start of a big month for the Reds as they come up against a side that has beaten several of the league’s more reputable sides before they face clubs that are seen as rivals for the Champions League places, and contest a League Cup semi-final against Stoke City.
Both sides have their fair share of injury problems, but the Hammers seem to have plenty of players either returning or close to returning, while Liverpool seem to be playing pretty much the same side give or take one or two alterations.
