There were fears Mane had picked up a knee injury while playing for Senegal.
Liverpool forward Sadio Mane is fine and has told Jurgen Klopp he will be ‘100 per cent’ for the weekend’s game with Leicester City after suggestions he had picked up an injury while on international duty, the Daily Telegraph reports.
Mane was substituted during Senegal’s 2-0 win over Namibia in their Africa Cup of Nations qualification campaign but reported for training this morning.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is said to have phoned the player on Sunday to get an update on the winger’s fitness himself.
It seems that Mane has already become a key figure since his £30 million signing from Southampton earlier this summer. He certainly had one of the more impressive competitive debuts in a Liverpool shirt for quite some time when he found the net during the 4-3 win over Arsenal on the opening day of the season.
His pace has seemingly added a new dimension to the side and his presence was missed in the defeat to Burnley that followed his debut, which he missed due to a shoulder injury.
Liverpool will be hoping that Mane can replicate the promise he has shown his first few appearances throughout the course of the season. There is little doubt that many opponents are going to be paying that bit more attention towards him given the instant impact he has had since making the move to Merseyside.
