Trent Alexander-Arnold, Kevin Stewart and Ben Woodburn have all signed new contracts.

Liverpool have announced deals for three of their younger players – with two having already featured for the first-team – according to the Liverpool Echo and other outlets.

Kevin Stewart is said to be in line for a new contract just nine months after signing a new deal with the club with his latest deal expected to contain a pay rise.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, who made his debut in the EFL Cup win over Tottenham Hotspur last month and has impressed during his time with the under-23s, is expected to put pen to paper on a new contract, along with fellow younger Ben Woodburn, who has also impressed for the second string and caught the eye of several fans during the early pre-season games in July.

The Echo reports that Woodburn agreed his first professional contract with the club last month.

It seems very exciting for Liverpool, who are giving long-term deals to their most promising players. Ovie Ejaria is another example of this after he signed a contract keeping him at the club until 2020 in the summer.

Reds’ boss Jürgen Klopp has signalled his intentions with younger players since his appointment in October last year as he has been no stranger to giving players opportunities.

Stewart is a good example of that having made a total of 17 appearances for the first-team, while Ejaria made his Premier League debut in the weekend’s 6-1 win over Watford from the bench.

The deals were confirmed on the club’s official website this morning with manager Jürgen Klopp saying: “This is really positive news of course, and it’s brilliant we have acted decisively to show our intent with our young players.

“With Kev it is maybe a little different. He is of course established with us now and making a contribution as an important member of our first-team squad.

“Trent spends most of his time with the first team in this moment and is progressing each and every day.

“Ben is in those earlier stages and has a lot of developing to do still – but wow, what an exciting talent he is.”
