The Times reports there is some concern about even naming him on the bench for Sunday lunchtime’s clash at the Emirates Stadium.
The club is said to not want his presence around the first team to indicate that he is available for England’s international fixtures that follow this weekend’s domestic action.
Tottenham’s Harry Kane
It seems there is a big decision to make for Tottenham going into a huge game in their season. They haven’t won in each of their last six games and have struggled in front of goal of late.
There will be those that feel 20 minutes is all that Kane needs to make a difference in what could be a pivotal game in the context of Tottenham’s season. A win could move them level on points with their rivals – and at worst they would be three points off the pace in the title race after a difficult run of fixtures.
But the bigger picture probably suggests it would be better to protect the player and not risk him for the game, and the times afforded by the international break could mean he can hit the ground running later on in the month.
