Cardiff, Arsenal, Manchester United, West Brom and Newcastle United feature
It was a weekend of Premier League football which featured a big game, and some big results. Here is a look at those who can be proud of their performances this weekend.
Steven Caulker
As well as his impressive performance at the heart of the Cardiff City defence, his header managed to give the Bluebirds a memorable win over their fiercest rivals to allow them to leapfrog Swansea in the Premier League table. Not to mention, it was against his former club, he’s not going to be fondly remembered in Swansea after that!
Aaron Ramsey
The Welshman is having quite an incredible season. He was a constant goal threat for Arsenal against Liverpool, and ran the opposing teams midfield ragged. His performance was capped with a wonderful strike which sealed all three points for the Gunners.
Wayne Rooney
It’s not often you can call someone who has probably scored an own goal [the dubious goals panel may want to look at it] a hero, but Rooney was instrumental in the opening 25 minutes when Manchester United blew away Fulham at Craven Cottage – by providing both a goal and an assist.
Saido Berahino
It had all the hallmarks of a frustrating looking afternoon for the Baggies against Crystal Palace but just before half-time, the youngster managed to keep his cool and provide a wonderful finish which sent West Brom on their way to three points against the Premier League’s bottom club.
Loic Remy
He seemed to be at the centre at a lot of the good work in Newcastle’s attacking play. He brought other players into the game, launched counter-attacks and scored a wonderfully left-footed strike which brought the Toon a massive win against a Chelsea side who were on a high from the week before.
