Southampton have recorded four successive victories in all competitions and a win over Hapoel Be’er Sheva will put them in a strong position to qualify from their Europa League group.

Southampton midfielder Oriol Romeu has said confidence is high in the side after four successive wins in all competitions, the Daily Echo reports.

The Saints are back in Europa League action tonight looking to build on their recent good form – and make it two wins out of two in the group stage of the competition when they take on Hapoel Be’er Sheva in Israel this evening.

Romeu knows the side are in for a difficult evening against a team that beat Inter Milan in the San Siro but is quoted in the Daily Echo suggesting that confidence has been built on the manner of the Saints recent victories, as well as the results themselves.

He said: “We are feeling comfortable now, we are feeling much better.

“The last results have been very good, not just results but also the way we played and did a lot of things. They were very positive and we have to keep doing the same.

“Obviously, one game or two games doesn’t change anything, you have to keep doing it every game. That’s football and that’s what we have to do tonight.”

It’s certainly a big night for the Saints as a victory will put them firmly in the box seat to qualify from their group ahead of that double header with Inter Milan.

Their recent performances under Claude Puel have impressed. There were the teething problems in very early games of the season as the diamond formation was implemented but they seemed to have found their feet. The way they brushed aside a troubled West Ham side was very good to watch as the side looked slick and comfortable.

The challenge now for Southampton is to keep this very good run of form going for as long as possible. Complacency doesn’t seem to be a factor judging by what Romeu had to say about this evening’s opponents.

He added: “If someone hasn’t watched them or you don’t know them well, you might think it will be easy, but it won’t be.

“They are a strong team, they have done pretty well the last months, the last year and I think it’s going to be hard.
