The ex-Liverpool striker is excited about the Reds’ most recent signing from Southampton.

Former Liverpool striker Neil Mellor has said he is excited by the signing of Sadio Mane from Southampton and thinks manager Jurgen Klopp could get the best out of him.
Mane signed for the club on Tuesday and is the fourth new face at the club this summer as Klopp prepares for his first full season in charge at Anfield.
Mellor seems to be excited about the pace of Mane and the goal threat he can offer the side in the coming season.

He is quoted by the official Liverpool website, saying: “We’ve since glimpses of him but there’s potential to see a little bit more consistency because in the final third he can really be the difference.
“One of his biggest strengths is pace, but I think the biggest thing about his pace is that acceleration that he has.
“Some players are quick but he has that real acceleration to get away from players and buy himself a little bit more space in the final third.
“On the counter-attack next season he will be a big player for Liverpool with that pace he possesses.”

Certainly Mane gives something Liverpool seemed to be lacking in terms of pace and there has been a desire to add more goals to the side from other areas of the field; especially when the top scorer last season was Daniel Sturridge with 13 goals in all competitions and he had only played for half the season because of injury problems.
Mane can certainly become an important part of this Liverpool side if he hits the ground running, and his goals against Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea last season show he is the kind of player that seems to thrive against the league’s stronger sides.
