Mignolet was on the bench as Liverpool played out a 0-0 draw with Manchester United.

Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet had to make do with a place on the bench for their 0-0 draw with Manchester United, with Loris Karius continuing to occupy their number one position.
It looks as though he will remain on the bench for the weekend’s game against West Bromwich Albion as it would be difficult for Jürgen Klopp to drop the man who kept goal for the club’s first clean sheet in the Premier League this season.

While chances may have been few and far between for both sides, with many complaining at the dullness of the encounter, it did not stop Liverpool’s benched goalkeeper from suggesting that if either side deserved three points then it was probably the home side.
David de Gea became the busier of the two goalkeepers later on producing a couple of fine saves to preserve a clean sheet.
He posted on twitter:
However, ‘not a bad point’ seems to be the feeling all-round as neither side did their chances of challenging for the title or for a place in next season’s Champions League any harm with such a result.
Liverpool remain in fourth place, two points off the leaders, while Manchester United are three points further back in seventh place.
While Liverpool take on West Brom on Saturday evening, United face a trip to Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday three days after hosting Fenerbahce in the Europa League at Old Trafford.
