Some of the latest transfer news involving Liverpool Football Club this Tuesday evening.
Liverpool’s Mamadou Sakho
News broke last night that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is prepared to let popular defender Mamadou Sakho leave the club on loan before the transfer window closes, the Daily Mail, among others report.
The thinking behind it is said to allow Sakho some game time in order to build up his fitness having not kicked a ball in anger since April after he was accused of failing a drugs test, which saw him cleared by UEFA’s disciplinary procedure, and he then subsequently suffered from Achilles injury.
The Frenchman was also sent home early from the club’s tour of the United States for three disciplinary mishaps but is said to remain part of the club’s plans.
One Premier League club who has been linked with a loan move for Sakho by the Daily Mail is Sunderland, who have reportedly rejected the opportunity to sign him. They are said to be after a different style of defender though they are on the look for reinforcements at centre-back.
Liverpool’s Lucas Leiva in action
The Liverpool Echo reports in their story on Sakho that Lucas Leiva will likely remain at the club as Klopp blocked a move to Galatasaray for the Brazilian. They report the player will remain at Anfield for the final year of his contract unless he pushes for a move.
One player that Liverpool are still having difficulty moving on is Mario Balotelli, with Serie A side Sassuolo the latest to distance themselves from any potential move for the enigmatic forward.

ESPN report that the club’s chief executive Giovanni Carnevali gave an interview to RaiSport’s Zona11pm show in Italy, suggesting discussions had taken place with Balotelli’s agent Mino Raiola.
Carnevali is quoted saying: “Mina Raiola offered us Balotelli, but we refused.”
Tiago Ilori looks set to depart the club, according to the Liverpool Echo, with Olympiakos, Eintracht Frankfurt and Freiburg also said to be interested in the defender.
The player is valued at around £3 million with the Reds seeking to offload him on a permanent basis. Olympiakos are said to be more interested in a loan move.
