Christian Benteke celebrates scoring the first goal for Liverpool
Liverpool have rejected a fresh bid from Crystal Palace said to total £30 million including add-ons, according to the Daily Telegraph and other reports.
Palace are said to have offered £23 million up front and £7 million in add-on clauses, but the Reds feel that the clauses are not realistic and want more money up front.
Benteke wasn’t in the matchday squad for the Reds opening day win over Arsenal on Sunday, and is said to be keen on a move to Selhurst Park.
The Reds will not be trying to sign a new left-back between now and the end of the transfer window, with manager Jurgen Klopp determined to work with the under-fire Alberto Moreno in order to iron out his weaknesses.

The Express reports that James Milner – naturally a midfielder – will have played at left-back had he been for Sunday’s encounter at the Emirates Stadium, while the Liverpool Echo are reporting that Milner is set to be fit for Saturday’s trip to Burnley in the Premier League.
The report in the Express said that Klopp was unwilling to pay £20 million for Cologne’s Jonas Hector, and the Echo reports the Reds have not pursued another left-back after missing out on Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell.

The Echo’s report also says that Daniel Sturridge will come back into contention for the trip to Turf Moor after missing the win over Arsenal with a slight hip problem.
One summer signing who played at the weekend was defender Ragnar Klavan who says he hopes he’s done enough to retain his place for the trip to Burnley.
Klavan was picked ahead of Joel Matip to partner Dejan Lovren, and told the Liverpool Echo: “I enjoyed it but I have no idea whether I’ll continue to start.
“For me it’s more important how the team does. If the manager decides that it’s better if someone else plays then that’s okay.”
