Sadio Mane returned to the Liverpool side last night after missing the weekend’s defeat to Burnley with a shoulder injury.
Despite not scoring one of the five goals against Burton Albion that secured their passage to the third round of the EFL Cup he was many people’s star of the show.
His pace, intelligence, and role in all but one of the goals certainly had plenty of Liverpool fans purring and delighted to see him back.

Over the past few seasons, many Liverpool fans have had reservations about the players that have been purchased from Southampton – not in the case of the Mane it seems.
Some already view him as a very important part of Jurgen Klopp’s team following his devastating display on his debut against Arsenal on the opening weekend of the campaign.

There were no goals last night from the Reds’ summer signing put plenty of promising passes, link-up play and his teammates around him seemed to thrive off his return as he was at the centre of nearly all of their good play.
