Daniel Sturridge was the catalyst in a much-changed Liverpool side as they overcame Tottenham Hotspur in the EFL Cup.

Liverpool booked their place in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup thanks to a 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield this week.
The Reds made a clean sweep of 11 changes from the side that West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League at the weekend, which meant some players who were warming the bench of late as well as other fringe players and youngsters got the opportunity to shine.

While some were impressed with the full debut of Trent Alexander-Arnold and fellow youngster Ovie Ejaria, it was Sturridge that inevitably stole the show, sending something of a reminder to Jurgen Klopp as to just how good he is with a brace.
That is if the Liverpool manager really needed any reminding.
Sturridge’s two goals settled the tie and he could have had more. That said, he may have to wait for his chance to start again in the Premier League, and may have to make do with a place on the bench for their next game when they travel to Crystal Palace on Saturday evening.

Many fans seem pleased that he got his first goals for the club in two months. Some have suggested that he was better for having Divock Origi alongside him in what seemed to be a good partnership during spells in the game, as well as Danny Ings when he featured.
