Many punters think Liverpool have a decent chance of winning the league outright this season, thus ending the club’s 24 year wait to become champions.
Despite Liverpool no longer having a 100% record, their price seems to have hardened for both a top four finish and the Premier League title, according to Boylesports.
Brendan Rodgers’ side managed to return to the top of the table after their 2-2 draw with Swansea at the Liberty Stadium Monday night, but it hasn’t deterred punters from backing the Reds’ to have a successful season.
Leon Blanche, Head of Communications at Boylesports said: ‘Despite not gaining three points on Monday night, punters still believe that Liverpool are hungry for the Premier League title this season and have supported them into 8/1 from 11/1.
‘If the money continues to come we will have to shorten them further, but Boylesports is currently offering 6/5 that Liverpool have a Top 4 finish in the 2013/14 Premier League’.
Manchester City and Chelsea are still joint favourites at 13/5 to lift the Premier League crown, whilst defending champions Manchester United are 7/2 to win the league in their first season under David Moyes – with all of them odds on to take their expected place in the top four.
Arsenal are leading the betting for the rest to get into the top four at 3/4, and are currently 15/2 to lift the league title after quickly putting their opening day loss to Aston Villa behind them.
Tottenham are priced at 13/10 to break into the top four, and are 12/1 to become champions having spent over £100m in the transfer window.
