Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp addressed the media ahead of his side’s trip to Tottenham in the Premier League.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp seemed unconcerned about comments made in the media by Daniel Sturridge about his role in the side.
Sturridge was used in a wider role against Burnley last weekend, and has been quoted on several back pages of today’s newspapers that it’s not a role he is happy to play, as reported in the Express.
Klopp seemed to defuse any potential situation a little in his pre-match press conference, telling reporters, as reported by the Liverpool Echo live blog, suggesting there isn’t a problem with him.
“First of all, you have to think a little bit about why you ask things like this. I don’t want to play Daniel as a wide player, but he can play there. In the key moments he needs to be in the finishing position.

“But winger is not a fixed position, especially not in Daniel’s case. We still have to work on a lot of things. I don’t know exactly what he said but we have talks.
“It’s not like you play there and say wait until something happens. It’s flexible football.”
Klopp confirmed that both Emre Can and Divock Origi are injury doubts for this weekend’s game against Tottenham at White Hart Lane.
Can limped off with an ankle injury during the 5-0 win over Burton Albion in the League Cup in midweek, while Origi appeared to suffer from cramp.

The Liverpool boss said: “We need to wait a little bit. With Emre there is nothing really serious in the ankle, but it is his ankle where he had a few problems in the past. It should not be long, but maybe not for the Tottenham game.
“It’s the same with Divock, it’s not serious. There are different levels of cramp.”
Klopp seems pretty happy with the squad at his disposal though did say without European football that the squad shouldn’t be too big.
He was asked questions about the future of Lazar Markovic and Mario Balotelli, with Klopp saying: “When it’s the 1st of September we have to analyse the situation, but building a squad means everybody has the prospect of playing. The players must be convinced they have to start and be angry when they don’t start.
“It’s my job to speak and talk to them about this.”
