Lallana is getting plenty of plaudits for the influence he is having on the Liverpool side this season.

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has told the Liverpool Echo that he believes Adam Lallana has been performing well for a lot longer than he gets the plaudits for.

Lallana is looked at as one of the Reds’ most improved players under manager Jurgen Klopp and is in a rich vein of form having found the net on six occasions this season, with three goals coming in his last two outings, and his presence notable by a recent absence through injury.

But Henderson feels it has not just been this season where Lallana has been playing well, telling the Liverpool Echo: “For us as a team I think he’s been at this level for the last 18 months to two years with the performances he’s been putting in.

“I don’t think it’s the case that he’s just been doing it for the past four or five months. Since the manager came in, Adam has been brilliant.

“He’s gone from strength to strength. You can see he’s full of confidence at the minute.

“He’s been arriving in good areas and scoring goals. For us as a team, we always knew how good he is.”

Lallana has certainly found himself in more scoring positions since his role in the side changed to a central midfield role rather than a wide man in a front three. His goal-scoring output did improve in that role but not to the extent it has this season, as he has already recorded his best goal tally in a season since his move to Anfield over two years ago.

He certainly has been a player that bought into Klopp’s instructions readily and the change of position has helped him. There had been plenty of questions about Lallana’s end product but it had been improving during the course of last season and has kicked on again this term.

Henderson, and the rest of his teammates, will be hoping for more positive headlines to come from Lallana.
