Joe Allen has found the net in his last two Premier League games for Stoke City.

Stoke City player Joe Allen is enjoying his new role in a more advanced midfield position following his signing from Liverpool in the summer, the Stoke Sentinel reports.
Allen has found the net in his last two Premier League games for the Potters – the latter a strike against Manchester United that earned Mark Hughes’ side a point in a 1-1 draw to ensure they will not be bottom going into this international break.

The Welshman is quoted in the Stoke Sentinel, saying: “It’s something I pride myself on, being able to play a few different positions, so whatever is asked of me I just want to get out on the pitch and do it.
“The bonus has been the goals. I’ve got two in two now and I’ve talked about it time and again that it’s something I’ve wanted to add to my game.
“I think it’s the most difficult thing in football to do, so I’ve had to be patient, but I’m hoping this will breed confidence in me to try to nick a few more.”

One of the criticisms of the 26-year-old during his time at Liverpool was that he did not score enough goals, though it was perhaps unfair given that a lot of his time was spent in a deeper role.
During last season he was pushed forward by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and contributed three goals in total in his rare starts and cameo appearances. With more regular football at Stoke, he seems to be getting more chances and is likely to enjoy a much more productive time of things on the goal-scoring front.
Although there have been one or two signs of green shoots of recovery at Stoke, Allen’s goals could be more important in the coming games as they look to improve their league position of 19th.
