Liverpool will be hoping to get back to winning ways in the Premier League with a tough test against Tottenham after last weekend’s defeat to Burnley.

Former Liverpool midfielder Jan Molby thinks it’s easier for his old club to approach this weekend’s game with Tottenham than their last Premier League game against Burnley.
Liverpool were humbled at Turf Moor last Saturday as they suffered a 2-0 defeat to the Premier League newboys despite having 80% of the possession and over 20 shots on goal.
Burnley were compact and tight at the back and were content for the Reds to have the ball, but Molby expects a very different approach from Tottenham.

The Dane wrote in his Liverpool Echo column: “There was a lot of doom and gloom after the Burnley game, but after the stroll at Burton in midweek, I think this is the perfect fixture to get the Reds back on track.
“To me, it’s an easier game to approach than the Burnley one. Spurs will have a go, they won’t be reckless like Arsenal were, but they’ll see this as a real chance to strike a blow to a team they’ll see as top four rivals.
“Whereas Burnley last week were content to wait, to sit and then to pounce when Liverpool made mistakes, I think Spurs will meet them head on. And that might just suit us. I certainly wouldn’t be fearing Tottenham.”
Given they are travelling to a side that finished third in the Premier League last season, Liverpool will have always known that picking up three points from this weekend’s game was going to be a difficult task.

The Reds will be familiar with Tottenham’s approach. Though they are likely to be strong at the back, this is a game they are going to want to win early on in the season – seven points from their opening three games would represent a very good start for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, and a win over a good team in the process.
Therefore they may be more inclined to be on the front foot than Burnley were against Liverpool last weekend – and both sides are likely to get chances in this game.
