A win for either side could prove to be essential in the context of their season – and it could be won in the midfield.

West Bromwich Albion taken on Queens Park Rangers this weekend at The Hawthorns in a big game for the bottom half of the Premier League.
The home side are eight points clear of the relegation zone in 14th place, but Head Coach Tony Pulis doesn’t seem to be taking anything for granted as he looks to make absolutely sure of his side’s status in the top flight for next season.
For Chris Ramsey and QPR, however, the situation is a little more perilous as his side are four points adrift from safety with eight games to go.
The home side will be the favourites but the game could be won and lost in midfield. With games running out for the visitors it is imperative they get something in order to aid their cause to secure their Premier League status.
As a result James Morrison and Joey Barton could be two of the men to watch – so let’s have a look at their statistics:
| Position | Team | Tackles Accuracy | Duel Won GAME | Passing Accuracy | Big Chance Created | Goals | Appearances | Mins Played | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| James Morrison | MF | West Brom | 67% | 4.46 | 84% | 4 | 1 | 26 | 1,998 |
| Joey Barton | MF | QPR | 59% | 6.25 | 74% | 7 | 0 | 20 | 1,631 |
Though Barton probably has the reputation of being the more aggressive midfielder, it’s Morrison who seems to be the most proficient tackler, though he does excel when it comes to winning his share of duels in the game.
The interesting statistic is the role they have on the ball for their sides. While Morrison’s passing accuracy is 10% higher than Barton’s respectable statistic, the QPR midfielder creates more chances – which indicates that he may take more risks with his passing, and the final ball.
