The former Liverpool midfielder has been impressed by the Reds skipper so far.
Former Liverpool midfielder Gary McAllister has told the club’s official website that he has been impressed by Jordan Henderson’s start to the season.
Henderson has been played in a deeper role by manager Jurgen Klopp this season and the Reds skipper seems to be flourishing.
McAllister told liverpoolfc.com: “He’s always been a consistent performer but this season I think he’s had the most passes in the Premier League to date.

“That comes with confidence as well, he’s a player who’s looking to get on the ball and get touches.
“I think he’s becoming very, very influential and he’s a good leader – [England manager] Gareth Southgate thinks that as well.”
So much so that Southgate has twice handed Henderson the armband in the absence of regular England captain Wayne Rooney.

The standout moment from Henderson’s season so far will have been his long range effort that proved to be the winner for the Reds as they beat Chelsea 2-1 at Stamford Bridge in September.
But his ability to dictate games and cover ground means his role in the side has given others the platform to go forward. He seems to have the most defined role of all Liverpool’s midfielders while the others are pretty fluid, although he has been able to get forward on several occasions.
It is a massive step forward for Henderson from last season when he was suffering from persistent injury problems, and his form suffered as a result. This season he seems to have come back a different player, and everyone associated with the club will hope his form continues on this upward trajectory.
