Wales comprehensively defeated Russia 3-0 to finish top of Group B at Euro 2016.

It was simply an outstanding achievement for Wales as they qualified for the last 16 of Euro 2016 in style with a 3-0 win over Russia in Toulouse.
Aaron Ramsey opened the scoring for Chris Coleman’s side with a cool finish after latching on to Joe Allen’s through ball, and their lead was shortly doubled by Neil Taylor with his first international goal.
The scoreline was starting to flatter the Russians who endured wave after wave of pressure from Wales. Both Bale and Ramsey had their efforts saved by Igor Akinfeev.
The pressure eventually paid off in the second half with Bale taking one of his chances calmly – scoring his third goal in as many games to head top of the goal-scoring charts.
In all honesty, the scoreline had flattered Russia. Wales go into the last 16 as winners of Group B thanks to England’s failure to beat Slovakia, meaning Chris Coleman’s side will play in Paris on Saturday against a third-place side from Group A, C or D – meaning they could meet Northern Ireland at that stage of the competition.
Wales can already call this tournament a resounding success, and the journey is not over yet. Here are some of the best images from a truly memorable night for Welsh football:
