The Saints have come through six games in just over two weeks without conceding a goal.

Southampton midfielder Dusan Tadic has said the side are not drained following their first bout of a busy fixture list, suggesting the side needs to be strong mentally through such periods, the Daily Echo reports.
The Saints have come through a spell of six games in just over two weeks but have shown some promising form during that time, which has seen them keep six successive clean sheets in all competitions.
Tadic is quoted in the Daily Echo, saying: “You feel in your head that you are tired – but you are not tired. If you are mentally in your head saying to yourself that you’re not tired, then you are not tired.”
It has been a relatively successful period of games for the Saints. They have managed to pick up seven points from their last three league games – the latest a 0-0 draw against Champions Leicester City. They also sit on top of their Europa League group with four points from their opening two games and have made it through to the fourth round of the EFL Cup.

The schedule will mean that Claude Puel will make one or two changes to his side at times in order to keep some of his players fresh but he must be encouraged at the way his side has handled things so far – as they look strong at the back, while at the opposite end of the field Charlie Austin has found some decent goalscoring form, although he will be disappointed at being unable to extend that run against the Foxes.
For now, there is plenty to be positive about at St Mary’s going into this international break. The games continue to come thick and fast after the break with a pretty difficult run of Premier League games against Burnley, Manchester City, Chelsea and Hull City before the internationals take place once again.

In among all that there are two games against Inter Milan in the Europa League for Southampton to face as well as an EFL Cup fourth round tie at home to Sunderland. If they can continue their good form during another busy period of the season, they could be set up well to have another good season overall.
