The Reds seem to have several goal-scoring threats in their ranks.

Liverpool players celebrate after the game

Former Liverpool striker David Fairclough has told the club’s official website that the side’s movement in the final third – along with other areas of the side chipping in with goals – has been key to the side’s good start to the season.

The Reds currently sit in fourth place in the Premier League after seven games, five of which have been played away from home, with Liverpool having visited Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea in the early stages of the season.

They have managed to become the joint highest scorers in the league so far along with Manchester City, with goals being shared out among the attacking players pretty evenly.

Fairclough told the official Liverpool website: “Players like Lallana, Mane, Coutinho, Firmino – they all look very, very comfortable with each other, and you’re getting support from the more defensive players. There’s an enjoyment, I think, in going forward.

“Mane, for example, starts in wide positions, but how often does he finish in the centre of the goal? That’s great to see, it confuses the opposition.

“This time last year we were perhaps a team who were reliant on one or two key individuals and, when the likes of Sturridge weren’t in the side, goals were a little bit thin on the ground.

“Now, we’re seeing a lot of goals, and we’re seeing an awful lot of people [chipping in].”

The goals appear to have been spread evenly among Lallana, Mane, Firmino and Coutinho so far this season as they have found the net on three occasions each in the league, while James Milner has struck four times from the penalty spot. The two Brazilian stars have also managed to get on the score sheet in EFL Cup ties.

Jordan Henderson and Dejan Lovren have also managed to find the net in the league this season while Divock Origi and Daniel Sturridge have only managed to find the net in the EFL Cup so far, and Ragnar Klavan has also opened his account for the club in that competition.

Liverpool certainly seem to be a massive threat in the final third of the field, and they will hope to continue that when they return to domestic action following the international break, with a huge clash against Manchester United at Anfield in another big early-season encounter.
