Chelsea kept up their run of good form by dismantling Everton 5-0 at Stamford Bridge at the weekend.
Chelsea defender Gary Cahill admits an element of frustration at the timing of the international break as their win over Everton on Saturday evening further underlined their title credentials, the London Evening Standard reports.
Chelsea’s 5-0 demolition of Everton was their fifth consecutive league win to nil, and now the domestic season has another disruption because of the international fixtures.

Cahill is quoted in the Evening Standard, saying: “It is a bit frustrating. When you’re building momentum like we are now, you want to keep the games coming and keep going.
“But there is no reason why we can’t do that after the break. Our good form started before the last one with a win at Hull and we won another four after the internationals were over.
“Half the squad is going away for internationals. Some lads have got a chance to rest up which is always good.”

International breaks can provide an element of disruption, and sides can struggle to get going in the early stages of games immediately after they return from the break. But Chelsea look like a side to be feared at the moment and things seem to clicking for Antonio Conte’s men.
In a way, playing a little later than their main rivals after the break – with Chelsea visiting Middlesbrough on the Sunday with many other title contenders playing on the Saturday – could be beneficial to them. There is that little bit more time on the training ground and late arrivals have the opportunity to rediscover that cohesion with their teammates.
The manner of their recent victories suggests this is a Chelsea side that is very different compared to last season. They are slick, quick and very dangerous while maintaing a solidity and they will look to pick up from where they let off later this month.
